Stas Roud
Digital Imaging Technician
Video Engineer
Stas Roud is an ICG669 Digital Imaging Technician (DIT) & Video Engineer living in Vancouver, BC. With over a decade of experience, his priority is to uphold the DoP’s creative vision from Production to Post and to aid the camera team with any technical issues.
Stas has a 100% perfect data management record with no media ever lost on any project he has worked on. He also has the knowledge & software for media recovery in the worst case scenarios. RAW & Log give almost unlimited color flexibility to the Colourist in post, but without L.U.T.s and CDLs acting as a blue-print, the cinematographer’s vision can easily get lost in translation. With up-to-date technical knowledge of Sony, Arri, Red, and Panasonic’s colour science, he is able to aid the cinematographer in fulfilling their creative vision.
Having worked on the volume stage at Mammoth Studio’s & the virtual stage at Peacemaker, he can lead teams in adapting to the cutting edge of film technology. He is confident as the link between the brain bar and the rest of the production team. A 3-6 camera production with live switching demands a whole different set of gear and setup requirements compared to a traditional 2 camera show. As a Video / Broadcast Engineer he has the expertise to assemble, operate & maintain complex multi-camera live-to-tape or live broadcast productions. He can also provide a Video Village cart with 2x 32” OLED monitors ready to colour grade up to 5 cameras, capable of receiving, displaying and distributing a true 4K signal and/or HDR as needed.
Stas has the experience and mastery to aid any production with their technical needs.
