Liz is a Canadian director, producer, writer, and editor based in Toronto with extensive digital media production experience. Recently she has produced, directed and story edited documentary segments for TVO’s The Agenda with Steve Paikin. Liz has broad experience in both scripted and factual content. She discovered a love of solving logistical puzzles while associate-producing the Canadian Screen Award-winning The Neddeaus of Duqesne Island, one of the most-viewed series on the CBC digital comedy platform. Always driven to expand her skillset, Liz jumped into directing the Bell Fibe talk show Rapping with Actors, hosted by Mandy May Cheetham, which featured Toronto talent in an unconventional comedic format. She Co-Executive Produced the short-form digital series Late Night in the Studio for CBC Gem, which The Globe and Mail’s John Doyle called a ‘trippy, tonally perfect Canadian comedy.’ She also directed episodes on Season 1 and 2 of ZARQA (CBC Gem), from the creator of Little Mosque on the Prairie. Liz was an Executive Producer alongside Elizabeth Yake (True West Films) on the Canadian Screen Award-winning comedic digital series, The Drop (Narcity). Her most recent project, COLD, was nominated by the Directors Guild of Canada for the Best Short Film award and by the Female Eye Film Festival for Best Canadian Short and Best Thrills and Chills. Her animated short film Superhero, Inc. won the Best Writing Award presented by Netflix at the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge. A passionate advocate for community support and access, Liz spent 8 weeks teaching digital storytelling at the Toronto Reference Library and has a long history of mentorship both independently and through Project Humanity 1:1. Liz is an alum of the Women in the Director’s Chair program via the Whistler Film Festival, and has a particular focus on telling relevant stories that elevate communities and individuals not usually featured in media.
