Ken Shane

First Assistant Director

Ken Shane is an experienced Assistant Director, born in London, with a twenty-year stint in Vancouver. He holds both UK and Canadian citizenship.

He began his career participating in productions such as Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket and Steven Spielberg’s Empire of the Sun. Alongside his film work Ken has built up a career in TV, and has experience as a Production Manager and Producer in this field which adds to his skill set. The work he loves most is being a First Assistant Director.

With worldwide experience he has expanded his knowledge even further, collaborating with many talented Directors, including Michael Goi on the Netflix show Avatar: The Last Airbender, which has been nominated for the 2025 DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Children's Programs. 

No job too big, no job too small. Ken puts his heart into all his productions. A strong leader of a quiet, calm and respectful set.
