Steadicam Operator

Brad Hodson is a Canadian Steadicam Operator with over 25 years’ operating camera in the Motion Picture and Broadcast Television Industries.

Brad has worked with such acclaimed directors as Terry Gilliam, Kathryn Bigelow and Steven Spielberg. In addition to Operating Steadicam, Brad also specializes in Robotic Camera Systems and was instrumental in bringing some of the first Robotic cameras to Canada for the Motion Picture and Broadcast Television industries. 

In addition to his Movie and Television experience Brad has operated camera for countless sporting events, over 500 NHL hockey games (including the 2011 Stanley Cup final) 4 Olympic Games, the 2015 FIFA Woman’s World Cup and the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. In 2018 he was part of the camera crew which at the 23rd Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea won the prestigious IOC Golden Rings Award for Best Host Production.

In addition to being a member of the Society of Camera Operators Brad is a 23-year member of the International Cinematographers Guild Local 669 and currently sit on its Executive Board, a position he has held for four years. He is both a Canadian and United Kingdom citizen and currently lives in Vancouver, Canada.
